From News Center (Text by Yang Qingshan, School of International Education; Photos by Qin Weiyin, International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office), and Luo Hongbo, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering) On July 16, Li Dongheng, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, led a delegation of teacher representatives from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the International Exchange Department, and the School of International Education to the smart excavator factory of LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd. During the special exchange under the initiative of "visiting enterprises and exploring job opportunities," they visited the first batch of Indonesian interns from the tailored class of the "1+1+1" joint degree program.

At the symposium, Wang Wei, Senior Manager of Manufacturing Technology at LiuGong, introduced the latest developments in the company's global production capacity layout in detail, focusing on the construction progress of the new factory in West Java, Indonesia. As the company's overseas bases are put into production one after another, the shortage of local technical talent continues to grow. The students of this tailored class are the first batch of core technical backbones reserved for the future of overseas plants. Speaking of the current internship situation of the Indonesian students, Wang Wei gave a high-level evaluation. He stated that the students were proactive in learning, quick to pick up skills, and good at teamwork, and they had mastered practical skills at multiple workstations in just one month, covering hydraulics, covering parts, and swing bearings.

During the visit, the LZPU delegation went deep into the production workshops and employee office areas to conduct on-site inspections of the interns' working and living conditions. In LiuGong's smart factory, which fully implements intelligent lean production, students wore safety helmets printed with their names in both Chinese and Indonesian, operating skillfully at their respective posts. When the teachers communicated with the intern representatives, the interns shared their experiences of transitioning from being strangers in China to gradually adapting to their positions. They also candidly provided feedback such as "I can understand Chinese but cannot speak it, and want to practice more oral Chinese in the future," "I hope to participate more in programming operations," and "I hope that a summary of daily Chinese vocabulary can be added to the professional courses in the future." At the end of the symposium, Vice Dean Li Dongheng encouraged all interns to cherish the platform, practice their skills hard, speak Chinese boldly, and be participants in China-Indonesia industrial cooperation and bridges for cultural exchange.

As LiuGong's overseas industrial layout continues to expand, the quality requirements for technical talent continue to rise, and the demand for talent is becoming more diversified. The cooperation between LZPU and LiuGong has also gradually expanded from the traditional field of construction machinery maintenance to the field of equipment manufacturing, and the coverage of talent cultivation continues to grow. Based on the company's latest job requirements and industry development trends, LZPU and the company further reached a consensus, clarifying that they will continue to deepen industry-education integration, precisely align with corporate recruitment standards, and work together to optimize the curriculum system and overall talent cultivation model to comprehensively upgrade the quality of education. This visit further consolidated the foundation for university-enterprise collaborative education and highlighted the direction of cooperation for joint construction, joint cultivation, and precise training of international technical and skilled talent, helping students adapt to the development needs of overseas positions and achieve high-quality employment and growth.
