From News Center (Text and Photo by Zeng Mingjie, School of Automotive Engineering) On August 10, the results of the national finals of the 19th “Higher Education Cup” National College Student Advanced Graphics Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition were officially announced, and the contestants of Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) once again achieved excellent results. They won 1 national second prize and 4 national third prizes in the Advanced Graphics Technology Track of the Mechanical Category. Among them, Zhou Zeheng from the School of Automotive Engineering won a second prize, while Li Baochen from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Ye Junting, Tang Peixin, and Lu Han from the School of Automotive Engineering won third prizes.

It is learned that the “Higher Education Cup” National College Student Advanced Graphics Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition is jointly hosted by the Engineering Graphics Course Teaching Steering Committee under the Ministry of Education, the Graphics Technology Professional Committee of China Graphics Society, and the Product Information Modeling Professional Committee of China Graphics Society. As the highest-level national competition for graphics-related courses, the competition was included in the National Ranking of Disciplinary Competitions for Regular Higher Education Institutions by the China Association of Higher Education in 2018 and is known in the industry as the “Olympics of the graphics field.” This year’s national competition attracted more than 20,000 contestants from over 1,000 universities across China, including Dalian University of Technology and Jilin University.

During the competition and preparation process, the instructor team jointly formed by the School of Automotive Engineering and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering carried out targeted training and guidance for the national competition events. The students prepared carefully and competed calmly, ultimately achieving another strong performance in the national competition. Behind these achievements lies the university’s long-standing commitment to the teaching philosophy of “promoting teaching, learning, and reform through competitions,” as well as the hard training and dedicated efforts of the participating teachers and students. Taking this competition as an opportunity, the course team will continue to promote teaching reform in graphics-related courses and further enhance students’ engineering practice and innovation capabilities.
