From News Center (Text and Photo by Wei Zheyuan, International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office)) On the morning of August 14, Liu Zilin, Secretary of the CPC LZPU Committee, and Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC LZPU Committee and Vice President of Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU), visited the front line of teaching and training to extend warm greetings to Chinese and Indonesian teachers and staff members participating in the first AI Training and Certification Program for Indonesian Teachers under the China-Indonesia AI General Education Course Joint Development Project. They also conducted on-site research and provided guidance on the progress of the assessments and related service support.

At the training site, Liu Zilin carefully observed the theoretical and practical assessments of the Indonesian teachers, asked with concern about their learning gains and living support during their stay in Liuzhou, spoke highly of the participating teachers’ enthusiasm for study as they overcame the summer heat and devoted themselves to training, and extended sincere greetings to the teaching and support teams working on the front line.

During the exchange, Liu Zilin pointed out that the wave of AI is bringing profound changes to the field of education, and that the project is both a vivid practice of empowering educational digitalization and industrial innovation through AI and a valuable platform for Chinese and Indonesian teachers to learn from each other. He noted that now is an important opportunity to advance the high-quality international expansion of vocational education. The university’s teaching team should implement the “AI Plus” initiative of the CPC Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, play its leading role, work with the participating Guangxi institutions to build synergy, steadily advance follow-up course development, standards formulation, and resource development, and create an ASEAN-oriented benchmark for vocational education cooperation.

The participating teachers expressed sincere gratitude for the care shown by the university leaders. The Indonesian teachers said they would bring China’s AI technologies and teaching experience back to their home country and promote the application of AI in local teaching practices. The Chinese team said it would make every effort to complete the follow-up joint development of course standards and teaching resources for the China-Indonesia AI General Education Course, contributing to improving the university’s international education and deepening China-Indonesia vocational education cooperation.
