From News Center (Text by Qin Weiyin, International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office); Photo by Liang Yanying and Hong Shuolei, International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office)) On the afternoon of July 30, a delegation led by Gufron Amirullah Abdillah, Special Envoy of the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, and Beny Bandanadjaja, Director of Learning and Student Affairs, visited Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU). The delegation fully recognized LZPU’s distinctive features in international education through industry-education integration and the talent cultivation outcomes of its university-enterprise co-built training centers.
At the symposium, Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC LZPU Committee and Vice President of LZPU, warmly welcomed the delegation and gave a systematic introduction to LZPU’s cooperation achievements in carrying out industry-education integrated education for Indonesia and leading the China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance in standards co-development. He noted that by relying on overseas expansion cooperation with leading enterprises such as LiuGong, the university has established an international talent cultivation system covering short-term tailored classes, dual-degree joint training classes, and employee training, with the scale of targeted talent cultivation and supply between China and Indonesia continuing to expand. He indicated that the delegation’s special trip to Liuzhou for an inspection after attending the Mechanical Vocational Education Going Global with Industry: Conference of Cluster Cooperation on International Highly Skilled Talent Training in Hangzhou fully demonstrated the great importance that Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology attaches to industry-education cooperation between the two countries. It also provided strong evidence that vocational education cooperation between the two sides is moving from consensus-building toward concrete implementation and joint progress.
During the visit, the delegation toured the training and teaching facilities of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Automotive Engineering, and the School of Electronic Information Engineering on Guantang Campus. They gained an in-depth understanding of LZPU’s achievements in major development, its industry-education integration model, and its university-enterprise collaborative talent cultivation, and also exchanged views with Indonesian student representatives studying at the university.
The visit by the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology delegation further consolidated the foundation of mutual trust between China and Indonesia in vocational education. LZPU will continue to rely on the platform of the China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance, further develop distinctive projects such as China-Indonesia dual-degree joint training classes and university-enterprise targeted tailored classes, and keep cultivating international interdisciplinary talent with both professional skills and cross-cultural communication abilities, continuously supplying high-quality young talent for industrial, economic, and trade exchanges between the two countries.
